Operation Bitcoin empowers veterans with education in money, technology, and energy—restoring purpose, building community, and preparing leaders to safeguard freedom and human flourishing.
Bitcoin is not the end result, it is a tool. Freedom is the goal. Stay focused, stack sats and teach people what you are learning.
The "broken veteran" narrative is a falsehood that will no longer be accepted. The veterans of today are the most capable, entrepreneurial, determined and effective members of our society.
Military veterans are uniquely positioned to lead the Bitcoin mission. Here's why: 1. Veterans have an insider’s view of centralized control, having witnessed its inner workings. This understanding gives them unique insights into why decentralization, like Bitcoin, can be a powerful tool for change. 2. Having served within the system, veterans recognize the limitations and inefficiencies of traditional structures. Bitcoin offers a means to address these issues and work towards true sovereignty. 3. For veterans, Bitcoin represents a chance to leverage their systemic knowledge to drive tech-forward change. They know where adjustments are needed and see Bitcoin as a key component of that evolution. 4. The military’s close-knit, mission-driven environment equips veterans to understand and influence the development of tightly coordinated networks like the Bitcoin community, further empowering their efforts for leading change. 5. Years of navigating complex systems allow veterans to appreciate the transparency and authenticity Bitcoin offers, knowing how to steer clear of traditional pitfalls while fostering more direct and honest engagement. 6. The skills veterans hone in the military—strategic insight and adaptability—are crucial for understanding and influencing freedom technology. Their unique perspective enhances their ability to drive the Bitcoin mission. SUPPORT THE MISSION:
For veterans, sitting on the sidelines isn't an option. If trouble must come, let it be in our time. So our children may live in peace. Preserve. Protect. Defend.
Just another day teaching veterans about Bitcoin at the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR).
In last night's live session of the Bitcoin Diploma for Veterans, we covered Chapter 3 - The History of Money from the @My First Bitcoin student workbook. One of our active duty service members who is new to Bitcoin had some great questions about the Bretton Woods System that led to an in depth discussion on the role of the US Dollar as a global reserve currency and the residual impact of monetary debasement. Everyone in the call contributed to the discussion and we fully embraced the peer to peer learning model. This is how it's done. image

Building the Bridge How Bitcoin Companies Can Tap Into the Veteran Talent Pipeline Let’s talk about the untapped potential of military veterans in the Bitcoin industry. Veterans, you’ve got the discipline, leadership, and mission-first mindset that companies in this space desperately need. And Bitcoin companies, you’re sitting in front of a tidal wave of talent that’s ready to take your mission to the next level. So, how do we connect the dots? Let’s break it down. Veterans: The Original Problem Solvers If you’ve served, you know what it’s like to operate in high-pressure environments, adapt to rapidly changing conditions, and execute with precision. Sound familiar, Bitcoiners? The decentralized, fast-paced, and often chaotic world of Bitcoin could use more of that energy. Veterans bring a unique skill set to the table: strategic thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to lead teams through uncertainty. These are the same qualities that can help Bitcoin companies scale, innovate, and stay resilient in a volatile market. But here’s the thing: many Bitcoin companies don’t know how to find you—or worse, they don’t know how to translate your military experience into the civilian workforce. That’s where we need to step in and build the bridge. Bitcoin Companies: Why Veterans Are Your Secret Weapon Bitcoin is about more than just technology; it’s about values—freedom, decentralization, and resilience. Veterans embody these values. They’ve spent their careers defending freedom and operating in decentralized, mission-driven environments. Hiring veterans isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s a strategic move that aligns perfectly with the ethos of Bitcoin. Here’s how you can start building a talent pipeline of veterans for your company: 1. Learn to Speak “Veteran” Military resumes can look like a foreign language if you’re not familiar with them. Take the time to understand how military skills translate into civilian roles. For example, a logistics officer in the military could be your next operations manager, and a cybersecurity specialist could be the perfect fit for your security team. 2. Partner with Veteran Organizations There are incredible organizations out there—like Hiring Our Heroes, FourBlock, Civilian Ready, and others—that specialize in connecting veterans with employers. Partner with them to tap into a network of highly skilled candidates. While these companies may not be involved in Bitcoin yet, we know it’s a matter of time until they join OPERATION BITCOIN in this space. 3. Show Up Where Veterans Are Veterans transitioning out of the military often use specific job boards and networks, like Military.com or RecruitMilitary. Post your job openings there. Better yet, attend veteran-focused career fairs and events to meet candidates face-to-face. 4. Create a Veteran Hiring Program Don’t just hire veterans—build a program that supports them. This could include mentorship opportunities, training to bridge skill gaps, and clear career development paths. Show veterans that you’re invested in their success. 5. Be a Veteran-Friendly Employer Veterans face unique challenges, from adjusting to civilian work culture to managing service-related disabilities. Offer flexible work policies, mental health resources, and accommodations to make the transition smoother. 6. Train Your Hiring Teams Your HR and hiring managers need to understand military culture and how to evaluate veteran candidates. A little education goes a long way in making your company more accessible to this talent pool. 7. Tell Your Story If you’re committed to hiring veterans, let the world know. Share your efforts on social media, highlight veteran employees in your company, and participate in veteran-focused initiatives. Build a brand that veterans want to be part of. Veterans + Bitcoin = A Winning Combination Veterans, you’ve already proven you can thrive in high-stakes environments. Bitcoin companies, you’re building the future of money and freedom. Together, you can create something incredible. But it starts with action—on both sides. Veterans, don’t be afraid to step into this space. Your skills are more relevant than you think. And Bitcoin companies, don’t overlook this talent pool. The values and skills veterans bring to the table could be the key to your next big breakthrough. Let’s build the bridge. Let’s make it happen. If you’re a veteran looking to break into the Bitcoin industry or a Bitcoin company ready to hire veterans, let’s connect. Drop a comment, share this post, or reach out directly. The future is decentralized—and veterans should be part of it. _____________________________________________________ OPERATION BITCOIN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to connect military veterans with Bitcoin.
