Frigid Morn #Nostr Winter is always a pain when the sun is so low. 47N latitude means the glowy orb is behind the trees so the house gets limited rays for months. That also means I have to go for a hike up the hill if I want to get a good blast of it. This year is insane how little snow we have gotten so far, maybe 4 inches total... Possible Friday but will end up rain for most of it. Tried vase mode for the first time on #3dprints and have some serious learning to do to get the settings right. Finally got my root canal done yesterday, thankfully, so now the abscess can begin to heal. The ache after the numbing eventually wore off was manageable, UNTIL I got in the hot tub in the evening and the pain exploded in my head. The ice pack took its time but calmed it down enough I could sleep. The heater filter was in dire need of cleaning and took a good few minuites for the air to blow clean and clear as I blasted it with the compressed air. This morning the heater is sounding much better and the air is not dusty. Slowly but surely I'm learning to use Blender but have a really long ways to go to be versed in it... For now I'm just learning by doing on these various little projects. Aside from the constant 3d printing yesterday I got out in the sub freezing temps to get a few things done around the farm. The cooler got emptied of the frozen blech, the coop door now closes all the way, and I got the cover put over the water line. I'm really hoping this will do the trick to keep the heat in and the line thawed since it has heat tape on it. I'll now in a bit when I go out. Toasted another nozzle overnight last night and had to take the hot end apart this morning before I could get it back printing again. How #Nostr The filament cabinet is built. I'm quite pleased with it and now can make positively sure that they stay dry and moisture free. I will mostly need the dehumidifier running seasonally since a lot of times are generally not too humid for us. This will also keep me from developing a hoard of filament sincee I only have X amount of space to store it. Yesterday morning was a bit wonky as J had his ortho appointment at 9am which he just stayed home while R went to school... by flemingfarm

Our 14 year old cat went outside and died in the subfreezing temps while we all slept. He knew where to go to speed it up and we found him in the morning. I was able to dig the hole and we laid him to rest next to Rocky our first dog who died 2 weeks shy of 8 years ago. As I was crying at my computer a little chickadee splatted into the window next to me so I held it for a bit while its brains unscrambled. Such a fucked up day of emotions. Burying our cat while travesties of justice are reversed. I can't help but feel like this is a potential turning point for the country, but then again it could just be appeasing the peasants while the powers that be rake in billions. At least #Ross is pardoned finally and the promise was kept. Let's just hope this term works out WAY better than the last one. Shit needs to change for the better for once.

He finally went. It happened over night last night when Kahlua went out to the 20F cold to make it happen faster. Poor boy is no longer in pain. The tears won't stop right now and I will have to dig a bit later. It's amazing how cathartic crying can be. There really is something to the emotional release that lifts the weight of despair, if even for a little bit, but there is lasting effect. Death is your end, regrets are immaterial, so enjoy the fact you have emotions and can act human.

This fucking sucks. Kahlua the #cat is leaving us now as his breathing slows and he nears the light. I was taught a good bit about death and dying when young but it still isn't enough to properly prepare the mind for the process when it happpens. Our cultures are blatantly negligent in these teachings, most likely to keep us with our good little consumer blinders on.
