"If you're familiar with AAVE, it's by far one of the largest applications within Ethereum.
We're the first Bitcoin chain that they decided to support publicly, pre-mainnet, which is really exciting.
So we're working with that team, and it's really important to have partners like AAVE onboard because Bitcoiners like the fact that it's battle-tested code — they have a track record.
So on day one on the Spiderchain, you'll be able to use your Bitcoin as collateral..."

What is the Spiderchain?
The Spiderchain is a trust-minimized network of multisigs managed by a set of orchestrator nodes called the Federation.
Enabling Bitcoin to be used in smart contracts without compromising censorship resistance or custody.
It creates a new execution layer where Bitcoin is used to pay for gas in an EVM-compatible environment.
Decentralization ≠ Censorship-resistance
These words are often thrown together in a barrage of crypto jargon, but it’s important that we understand their meaning separately.
Simply put:
🧱Decentralization is about structure
🎯Censorship-resistance is about outcomes
How many nodes are there?Who controls the keys? Is the protocol permissionless?
These are all questions about decentralization.
On the other hand, censorship-resistance is about answering this question:
What does the system do under pressure?
A censorship-resistant network has to be unstoppable. Decentralization is just the way to get there.
Bitcoin isn’t just decentralized, it’s censorship-resistant.
