I’m finding a lot of parallels in this book similar to first learning about #bitcoin and the educational journey it takes you on. #bookstr image

📖♾️ “Curiosity demands that we ask questions, that we try to put things together and try to understand this multitude of aspects as perhaps resulting from the action of a relatively small number of elemental things and forces acting in an infinite variety of combinations.” #bookstr image

GM Nostr fam ☕️ Here are some cool science facts regarding enthalpy and entropy as it relates to coffee. Not a perfect analogy for coffee’s full complexity of chemical reactions but it does offer a sense of some basic thermodynamic principles. 🌡️⚛️ Enthalpy (h): • In Coffee Brewing: Enthalpy can be likened to the total energy or heat content in your coffee. When you brew coffee, you’re adding heat to water, which increases its enthalpy. This heat is crucial for extracting flavors from the coffee grounds. • Example: The hotter your water (higher enthalpy), the more effectively it can extract compounds from the coffee, but too hot might extract undesirable bitterness. Entropy (s): • In Coffee Brewing: Entropy represents the degree of disorder or randomness in the system. In coffee terms, this could relate to how the coffee particles mix with water, or how the flavors and aromas distribute within the brew. • Example: When you grind coffee beans, you increase entropy because you’re increasing the randomness of the coffee particles. Fine grinds lead to a higher entropy, allowing for more surface area for water interaction, thus affecting extraction. #coffeechain #science #coffee
