I always start with the caveat that even when I agree with Peterson, I do not share the core of his message and fundamental views. That said, here's another one I can only applaud. He says at one point that liberals and conservatives have been asleep at the wheel of the education system for 60 years. I can attest that 30 years ago when I was about to go to uni in Catalonia, it was already well known and a recurrent joke that only the most useless, lunatic, radical communist potheads and drug addicts among us picked the Faculty of Teacher's Education. Mostly, that was one of the very few faculties they were able to enroll on at all with their terrible marks. Once on campus, we kept laughing at them and joking about how while we were in the classroom, you could see them having their "classes" literally on a patch of grass singing songs and reading Marxist pamphlets. In the meantime, they kept churning our teacher's diplomas and sending them to public and private schools alike... And here we are now, when they have become one of the most powerful gangs and effectively run the school system autonomously from government, pushing their ideological drivel, and their incompetence, on everybody's children. I think it's almost impossible to eradicate them from the public system, and the only way to mitigate the harm is to allow real parental choice. So finally yesterday I did a couple of purchases on Robosats, and that went how it went. This morning I was finally to catch a reasonable (0% premium) offer on nostr:npub1sqn6rpml88nq8khuvvneuqztfmvalpsarr8grkwy837hzdw63ajs6t5net of the right amount I like to buy to keep the total fees including network and exchange fees remain around my threshold of 1% of the purchase. It was a fleeting one: I checked and there was nothing, then I refresh and it appeared. But when I took it, and Bisq did the corresponding availability check, it had suddenly gone offline. So I (kind of desperately, I admit) refreshed a few more times, and there it was again after a couple of minutes. So I pounced. Parallel to that, my offer to buy was still sitting there untouched, even though I had increased the premium to 1%, so I deactivated it and I'll turn it back on next time I want to buy. Never seen anything like that, over a week with no takers is insanity. The proof of that is that the sell offer I took was a perfect match to my own offer to buy, except I was willing to pay 1% over the premium, and still this seller made an offer to sell at 0% premium, rather than taking mine. Talk about irrational (yes, maker/taker fees are different, but the 1% would more than pay for that, and then some). I wonder if there's some sort of problem with the platform that causes offers not to be seen (in either direction, because I couldn't see any "normal" offers I'd take either).
