Morning pond report is cold! It’s 5 degrees out there, thought the pond would be frozen solid, but it looks like the beavers have been working overtime to keep their channel open.

I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this.
I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

Morning pond report is there is snow on the pond. Most of it has frozen over completely at this point, there’s a large swath in the middle that is not frozen, although I highly suspected etc that’s a result of the beaver den & not a natural phenomenon.

This mornings pond report is there is a center area that is not frozen over yet. I’d bet we freeze solid in the next few days though. Hopefully we get so cold this year you can ice skate on it.
