Bringing this back full circle: Creating a culture of unlearning in adults is revolutionary and essential to creating a culture of freedom seekers and builders. But, I believe the true key to curating a culture of freedom is in the way we teach our youth. Imagine the transformative potential of a generation unburdened by the need to unlearn constraint and restraint.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve worked closely with youth from some pretty low and dark spaces. Our collective focus has been on undoing and unlearning the impact of systems that sought to break them. We explore the avenues through which we can exercise agency and freedom — through the ways we live, the food we consume, the content we engage with, how we spend and save our money, and how we invest our time.

We are born learning to conform and throughout the first 18 years of our lives, we get to practice (at minimum) 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Therefore, the pursuit of freedom necessitates cultivating a habit of unlearning.

I'm consistently amazed by the widespread tendency for people to forfeit personal agency in favor of conformity, structure, and someone else’s rules. So many are resistant to holding their own keys to life. It really reveals a universal reluctance to pursue true freedom.
