I don't believe that we'll ever have good mass media and healthy social discourse until we take it out of the hands of the propaganda departments of the fiat printers.
We can't take it forcefully out of their hands, all we can do is use some sly roudabout way to introduce something they cannot stop.

The only US election talk about Bitcoin I'm interested in is making sure that this time it uses OpenTimestamps to ensure the integrity of votes.

It seems like engagement with social media heavily depends of feedback and following user gets in early days of adopting the platform.
This dynamic is perfected in game apps - you get flooded with engagement rewards in your first days, level ups and more until you learn how to play and start doing things on your own.
This is why one fun app on nostr could be something called "Our Nostr" or "Our Attention" - a 'communist' (๐คฃ) Nostr client or feed within a client that showers Nostr newcomers and real accounts lacking engagement with attention - like some sort of incubator to better the experience for real users with low following.
It would have to use some sort of mechanism to filter real users from spam bots, having a Lightning address might be an OK indicator but likely not perfect. Global used to serve similar function in early days until it got spammed out of relevance.
So yeah, real communism hasn't been tried... yet ๐คฃ
Nostr is what Bitcoin Twitter was always meant to be.

Bitcoin is neither winning nor losing. It is simply bending the fabric of space by existing.
