The Café of Endless Tables There is a café where anyone can enter. There are no doors. Everyone brings their own table and chair and can sit wherever they like. This café is called Nostr. The freedom is real. But there's something strange. The closer your table is to the central counter, the more your words are heard. How do you get closer to the counter? You don't pay the bartender. You have to convince the waiters with the silver aprons to bring you a special coffee. Only they have that privilege. Who are the waiters? The first ones who entered the café years ago. They sewed the silver aprons for themselves. Now they are the ones who decide, with an unwritten rule: "A coffee offered by a waiter in a silver apron is worth a thousand times more than a coffee offered by a regular patron." Here's how it really works: 1. A new patron enters, full of ideas. They speak, but their table is in the back. To be heard, they must hope a silver-aproned waiter approaches and offers them that special coffee. Only then will their table move an inch toward the center. 2. The silver-aproned waiters spend most of their time offering each other the special coffee. Their tables are always closer, their voices always louder. Their proximity decides everything. 3. The regular patrons talk, laugh, pay for their normal coffees. That money keeps the place running, but the invisible "special coffee" system decides who is worthy of being listened to. Many have been speaking for a lifetime with their table stuck in the same corner. The most incredible thing? No one has ever seen the rulebook that establishes exactly how much a waiter's coffee is worth compared to yours. That book exists, but it's under the counter, written in a secret language. The result? A café with no doors, but with a glass ceiling. You can see the main conversation up there, but to get there, it's not enough to have something important to say. You have to play a game whose exact rules you don't know, managed by those who arrived first and sewed their own aprons. Decentralization is the doorless venue. The hierarchy is in the special coffee system.
