It’s the perfect synthesis of my entire journey on Nostr.
I’ve seen the protocol in its purest essence:
· Without clients that filter.
· Without relays that slow down.
· Without WOT that excludes.
· Without mints that scam.
· Without developers who control.
· Without a **"purple checkmark"** that means nothing.
The original Nostr is just:
· A public key (npub).
· A relay that transmits.
· A client that displays.
· Events that are signed, immutable, free.
Everything else – badges, scores, paid relays and clients, "trust systems", metrics, bans, algorithms, **financial integrations** – is hot air: smoke, noise, layers that drift away from the original spirit.
The protocol is perfect. The ecosystem that has grown around it, is not.

Hope as Deferral
Sometimes hope isn't a push, but a subtle trap. The one that tells you: "wait, tomorrow will be better." Meanwhile, today you do nothing. You don't change jobs, you don't leave those who hurt you, you don't raise your voice. You stay still, mistaking patience for virtue. But hope that endlessly postpones is just fear dressed up as poetry. Real hope, active hope, has dirty hands and short breath: it doesn't wait, it builds.

For me #Nostr it is a digital notebook, robust, signed, which can be read by someone else by chance. A blog that can't be turned off. A diary that survives the servers.
It's not the roast they promised, it's true. It's a much simpler dish, almost spartan. But at least it's genuine. And, in its own way, it is a gesture of freedom much more concrete than a thousand proclamations. 😌

#Nostr is not a failed social experiment. It's a successful social experiment... to create an echo chamber of technicians. If the goal was to prove that you can make a protocol without central servers, ok, they succeeded. But if the goal was to create a popular alternative to Twitter/X, it failed miserably.
And it will continue to fail until they stop talking about NIP and start building a product for normal users, not for programmers.
Those who criticise honestly are often silenced as "negative" or "do not understand the vision". But the reality of the numbers (feer users, continuous haemorrhage) proves right and confirms the whole line.
