The Paris 2024 Olympics are underway, with Team GB expected to be one of the largest fanbases outside of France. Despite five days until the opening ceremony, up to 600,000 tickets remain unsold, including for popular events like the 100m finals and gymnastics. Organizers confirmed that more than 20 sports still have spare seats due to late ticket releases and contingency planning.
Medals at the Paris Games feature a unique design element - a piece of the Eiffel Tower removed during renovations in the last century. Each medal weighs around 530g, with gold medals containing an estimated £620 worth of raw materials.
