Girls are not commodities!!!
I canβt stop thinking about this.
Right now, girls in Afghanistan are being sold into marriage because their families are starving.
This should never happen in our world.

Right now, an Afghan girl can be sold into marriage for around $3,200. This is happening in a country where millions of people are facing extreme hunger, international aid has dropped dramatically, and the Taliban have spent years taking away the rights and freedoms of women and girls.
The desperation is real.
The hunger is real.
The lack of support is real.
When fathers decide to sell a daughter into marriage, that is a choice made under terrible circumstances. βI had no money to pay the medical expenses. So I sold my daughter to a relative. If I had money, I would never have taken this decision,β said a father. Sons are not being sold in the same way. The burden of survival is falling on girls. Most reports focus on poverty, famine, Taliban policies, and funding shortages at organizations like UNICEF and UNHCR.
Children should never be the price of survival.
But in Afghanistan, hunger and poverty have become so severe that some fathers are selling their daughters into marriage to feed their families.
A horrifying reality that too many girls are living through right now.
