BlackRock files what appears to be the final amendment for its Bitcoin Premium Income ETF ($BITA) with a fee of 65 basis points. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a major policy essay today titled "Policy on the AI Exponential," arguing that AI is advancing far faster than the policy apparatus was built to handle. He says if scaling laws continue for even another year or two, we are likely to reach what he calls "a country of geniuses in a datacenter." Amodei frames the gap as existential. "In the several years that it can take Congress to act, AI can go from an amusing toy to the full country of geniuses." He says Claude Mythos Preview "proves beyond doubt that AI models are now tools of global and national strategic consequence," and warns that biological risks and serious AI autonomy risks may follow. The essay covers five policy areas that Amodei says need to be reimagined for an AI world: regulation and public safety, macroeconomics and tax policy, scientific innovation, the balance of power between state and society, and geopolitics. Alongside the essay, Anthropic is releasing a legislative proposal for frontier model testing and a policy framework for AI-driven job displacement, both of which the company says it intends to financially back. Amodei says transparency legislation was the right first step, but "now the risks are clearly here" and it is time to go beyond transparency into targeted regulation.

Bill Gates testified before the House Oversight Committee today in a closed-door interview about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. In his opening statement, Gates said he first met Epstein in 2011 through people in his professional and philanthropic work, continued conversations through 2014 about potential donors, and then cut contact after realizing "Epstein would never deliver on his promises." Gates told lawmakers, "Epstein was working to use information about my infidelities, in addition to many lies that he layered on top, to pressure me to re-engage with him." He said he never went to Epstein's island, ranch, or Florida home, and never witnessed "ongoing criminal conduct." "I should never have met with Epstein in the first place," Gates said. Committee chair James Comer said lawmakers plan to question Gates about his relationship with Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell. The interview is not being recorded but a transcript will be released in the coming days.

Tether is leading a $1.4 billion Series C into NEURA Robotics, one of the largest private investment rounds in humanoid robotics history. Its open-source Wallet Development Kit will embed self-custodial wallets into robotic systems so machines can receive payments, execute transactions, and settle autonomously.
