I just reread the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I really like this text. Some unfairly see it as an unattainable goal or as a set of Western values. I don’t agree. I think it’s a symbol of hope, to declare the fundamental rights of human beings with no other distinction than our shared humanity.

Climate change is caused by various greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that, among other things, lead to rising temperatures. Let’s stop undermining this major climate problem by framing it as class warfare. A few years ago, we discovered that TCE, widely used as an industrial solvent, was highly carcinogenic. We didn’t slap on extra taxes, we didn’t add little red warning labels, and we didn’t blame others. We banned or strictly regulated its use as a dangerous substance.
