This is so inspiring!! Sometimes I worry though that small scale adoption like this without education is a risky, like people might distrust Bitcoin when the price dips or a technical problem arises with the wallet, which has happened to me more than once when trying to onboard friends (although mainly with custodial wallets, never WoS, but either way) my point is I would love to see more educational efforts happening globally in general, but especially especially ESPECIALLY in conjunction w these initiatives. I need to open a business account that's shared between a Canadian and Dutch person, neither of us are in our home countries, we aren't physically together (very often) and we both travel full time. The business operates online/internationally... what country do we choose? Does a solution for this even exist ?? 🤔

Update : I made my friend a lovely little google doc with 5 videos - most of which were the recommendations I got from you guys - to dip her toes in to the #bitcoin rabbit hole, and she was grateful 🧡 Complete with notes and a guide in which order to watch; I think the effort I put into it will make her more likely to see it all through haha. I hope this starts something! Thanks Nostr!!!

My normie friend expressed a small spark of interest in learning about #bitcoin but specifically asked me to share it in a documentary format. Except I can't find anything 🤣 Feels like a rare chance to orange pill her but the perfect Bitcoin doc doesn't exist. Instead I'm compiling a list of maybe 3-4 YouTube videos/short docs to recommend to her instead ... thought I'd #asknostr Do you have recommendations for videos I could share with someone who: - is a total beginner understands bare minimum about money/the history of money - very unlikely to read a book about Bitcoin at this stage (she's a full time high school teacher also getting her masters; i.e. little time to spare) - no tech background - no economics background I'd love to share something with her about why we need Bitcoin/why money is broken, how it actually works, and the positive human rights implications... they could be separate videos. I'm having the hardest time!!!! Lmk if you have suggestions 🥰

Getting to inbox zero while I take a bubble bath. Two activities that seem to cancel eachother out. Feels like I'm eating a cheeseburger on a treadmill. The coming months should be filled with more relaxing Sundays, just need to push through this next week and a bit 🥵

I think a lot of adults on conventional social media (esp since TikTok) forget how much we share the space with teenagers. No where else in history have adults and children sharing spaces to this extent, on a peer level - it's not natural. Even if you only follow people your own age - you're likely still engaging with their comments and observing/participating in the viral trends that they invent. Millennials need gen-z approval/clicks to go viral, so it makes sense that we regress back to using our teen-brains online. And it makes us collectively less mature. I've been noticing lately how IG is full of 30-something year olds that are just full-time regressing back into teen-brain things like celebrity worship (which we do before we learn what real success is), rating people and being overly focused on body types/physical features (which we all do before we fall in love and learn that it transcends so so much), slut-shaming, gender wars, bullying (which we do before we grow up and realize everyone is just scared and/or angry). It's honestly super WEIRD how millennials spend so much time on the internet engaged at a peer-level in conversations led by 13 year olds (incapable of nuance). And I think it hinders a lot of people's spiritual(for lack of better word?) development. I could see how it's a bit of an escape - to steep in this lower consciousness - but it seems like it's at the expense of growing up and finding stability and being more real and free and open and genuine. And like I said, it's weird... #thoughtstr

I probably say 40-50% of what I wanna say on here cause I'm scared of the permanency. Nothing controversial I just wanna talk about my feelings 😅 But by nature those should be fleeting... What I personally want in social media that's hard to find (unless I hide my identity I suppose, but I don't want that either) is the ability to talk more freely and openly about my personal experiences, but as someone with a lot of self-criticism, the willingness to be open certainly feels hindered by #nodelete #thoughtstr
