As institutions begin to lock up large amounts of Bitcoin into cold storage, effectively removing it from the usable money supply and turning it into a tradeable derivative that can't be used directly as money, the total supply being used as money is shrinking. Happy #Bitcoin Fees Day! Today is the anniversary of the first time that transaction fees exceeded the block subsidy. This happened in block 500521.

Nowadays I find myself using two Lightning wallets; custodial for receiving since I need always-on infrastructure for receiving Nostr zaps and opportunistic receives to an LNAddress, and non-custodial for holding the majority of my sats and making payments from. Every so often I send the balance of the former to the latter. It would be nice to have a Wallet that handled both, and auto transferred from the custodial service to the non-custodial channel with my wallet's node when opening the wallet and its node going online.
