As an HR professional, I look at dozens of resumes every day. I interview people from all walks of life, and if there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: You can silence your ambition for a little while, but you can’t kill a true calling.

In HR, we talk a lot about "talent acquisition" and "skill alignment." But the secret sauce? It’s passion. You can train someone to use a tool, but you cannot train them to care.

If a career path or a specific goal keeps pulling at you year after year, stop ignoring it.
The universe is persistent, but time isn't. If a certain role, industry, or creative pursuit keeps keeping you up at night, it’s not a distraction. It’s direction.
The next time that "calling" taps you on the shoulder, don’t swipe left on it. You don't have to quit your job tomorrow, but you do need to start listening. Take a course, talk to a mentor, or apply for that role that scares you a little bit.
If it's meant for you, it won't leave you alone.
