So they want to change op_return so that the UTXO set won't be as effected as much by malformed data. So the proposed idea is not a solution to fixing the ability to spam UTXOs issue, just makes spammer's job easier so that they maybe won't mess around in the UTXO data. Analogy: It seems this points spammers toward a larger easier front door, but the back door is still open? Said another way. Trying to keep people from making a mess in UTXO by making it easier to spam in other ways, but in no way does this limit the ABILITY to spam UTXO data. I still wish the Essential 2 phone had been made. I would love to have a candy bar form factor smartphone. The original Essential phone hardware was top notch. If it hadn't become impossible to find replacement screens I would have used it a few more years.
