Have you ever had one of those moments where you realise that, no matter how hard you try, you simply can't make everything work? You lose your income, but the bills keep piling up and the responsibilities don't disappear. Life keeps moving. That's where Veronica finds herself right now. She's a single mother who recently lost her job in a country where unemployment is high, and she's doing everything she can to find work and get back on her feet. In the meantime, she still has to keep food on the table and, most importantly, make sure her 8-year-old son can stay in school. She needs help covering his school fees for the term while she works to rebuild her income. I think most of us can understand what it feels like to need a little help getting through a difficult period. For Irandokht, this wasn't simply about reaching a fundraising target. It was about getting some breathing room when there wasn't much left. Saeed lost his home in Tehran during the current conflict between Iran and the US. His home was completely destroyed, along with his furniture, belongings and even family heirlooms that held deep sentimental value. Although he still has his job in Tehran, with nowhere to live, he now stays outside the city and spends a total of 7 hours every day commuting to and from work. He isn't asking to replace everything he lost. He's asking for $5,000 to secure the deposit on a modest place to live. All Saeed needs is a little help to take the first step toward rebuilding his life, and you can help him get there.

#Bitcoin was built on a simple idea, which is that two people should be able to transact directly without the approval of a third party. That's much bigger than a payment system, but it's real financial freedom that enables you to transact with anyone, permissionlessly. Ironically, some of the greatest human needs in our world exist where the permissioned financial system cannot reach. So what's the point of having an open monetary network if it can't be used to help people simply because they were born in the “wrong country”? Money is a tool that should serve people, not stand between them.

Donations from foreign organizations are typically illegal, leaving these groups struggling to use the existing banking system to keep their operations going." Sometimes a little help at the right moment can make a much bigger difference than we realise. I wanted to re-share Veronica's story, a single mom who recently lost her job and is doing everything she can to find work and get her family back on stable ground. Right now, there's a very real problem in front of her, which is that her 8-year-old son needs his school fees paid, and she is trying to raise $1,800 to make sure he can continue his education without interruption. She's not asking someone else to provide for her family indefinitely. She's trying to bridge a difficult gap while she gets back on her feet. That's something I think many of us can relate to. Any contribution that can help her get closer to her goal will be much appreciated and go a long way in securing her son's future.
