I’ve been quiet for a while and there have been no commits to nostrcheck-server for 3 months. It’s not dead. I’ve been thinking, learning, and organizing things outside the repo. It’s still running and providing a free service to the entire #nostr ecosystem. Open source has silences. Not absence, refinement. I’m still here 🫂

Self-hosted nostrcheck-server

I’ve lost someone very important to me, and on top of that, because of an administrative issue, he can’t be buried yet. I always think of Nostr whenever I need to say what I truly feel. It’s as if here, I can really connect with my inner self. I’m such a closed-off person that very few of my close friends even know this side of me, so in a way, you’re closer to my real self, hidden behind a ridiculous avatar with a film director’s name.

Thinking about the roadmap towards version 0.8.0, what features do you think a server for self-hosting sovereign services like nostrcheck-server should have? I’ve been considering integrating Cashu mint, but honestly, Cashu doesn’t excite me that much. I’m also looking at adding more tools to the dashboard, aiming to stand out from other relays and offer an all-in-one with a very pleasant UI. On the other hand, I think I’ll finally work on the locations module and probably move forward with the integrated Nostr client, not only showing profiles and their events, but also providing a personalized feed, replay’s, quotes, etc. What is 100% confirmed is the integration with Umbrel and Start9 app stores 💪💪 Am I taking on too many battles at once? What would you like to see first in nostrcheck-server?
