NextCloud is a nice way to get a “cloud-like” experience on a home server you control. It has a familiar UI that makes it a nice choice if you want to help onboard a family member or friend who is less technical into your home server. Unfortunately, I find many setups and tutorials to be non-ideal (e.g. Missing HTTPS support, unclear configuration, spread-out data, lack of backups, etc). So I wrote a guide that (I believe) solves a lot of these issues. If you are looking to improve your NextCloud setup, this might be an interesting read!

Phi3 3B is the best local LLM model for programming questions that I have seen. It’s quite capable, and doesn’t use as many computing resources as other models of similar capability. It runs on an M1 chip without making the computer sluggish.
