Why are there so many messaging/chat apps and people migrate to one after another? E.g. Messanger, Signal, WeChat, WhatsApp, Skype, Telegram, ICQ, Slack, Teams, iMessege and so on. (They are not interoperable, migration is far from seamless, XMPP is not in widespread use if any).

What is the opposite/antonym to "financial freedom"? When did the term gain popularity? Was there significantly more or less share (% of) population enjoying financial freedom a century ago?
