This year, we decided to buy activities done together for the nieces and nephews instead of buying stuff. My youngest son, who has Down Syndrome, loves trampoline parks. We went to a big trampoline park yesterday, and jumped on trampolines, did flips into a foam pit, jumped over big cylindrical foam obstacles, did some pseudo American Ninja Warrior obstacles, and jumped from giant ball to giant ball. I am now understanding why most women my age don't participate in these activities any more. I'm sore, but loved every minute of it.

Auroras tonight. They were hard to see, especially if it wasn't dark enough and your eyes aren't adjusted, but the camera brought out the colors wonderfully. We're having unusual red/pink auroras. image

We are having rain in Wyoming in November. This doesn't normal happen. A foot of snow? yes. Sub-zero Fahrenheit temperatures? yes. Rain? I can't remember it ever happening. This fall has been weird.

I just finished the first draft of my book, “Learning About God Through Laughter.” Originally I had written 20 chapters, but had several suggest 30 chapters so it could be a one month devotional, so I added another 10 chapters. Because of copyright laws, I was tracking how many verses I used. It came out to exactly 365 verses — one for every day of the year. That makes me feel good about my book and that God was leading me in the writing. Now to the tedious and onerous task of editing and review. I already have some people reviewing the first 20 chapters. Now I’ll get to ask if people can add another 10 chapters to review. Whew! #biblestr

Wednesday night we had the most spectacular sunset. Because it was getting dark and I didn't want the flash ruining my sunset, I put the camera in night mode. I tend to shake, so I rested my phone on the hood of my car to take this picture. it turned out better than I could imagine. I was worried that the hood of my car would ruin the picture, but instead it reflected the sunset looking like a lake instead of the hood of my car. image

My son will be graduating with a double major in computer science and math in a year and a half. He currently has straight A's and will be graduating from the honors program. We are wondering if he is best off going straight into the job market, or would he be better off getting a masters. He could excel in a masters, but college is expensive. I know the programming space is getting more competitive, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was reading Leviticus 1 tonight. It describes the burnt offerings given at the Tabernacle. It talks of killing the animals, skinning them, draining the blood and pouring it on and around the altar. It talks about burning the entrails and dumping the craw and feathers of birds to the east of the altar. As I was reading this, I was thinking about how it must start to stink after a day of baking in the sun and much worse if they stay in the same location for a while. Then I noticed, at the end of the description of the burnt offering for each type of animal, it says, “an offering by fire as a soothing aroma to the Lord.” That does not sound like a “soothing aroma.” That isn’t how I would describe it, but God sees things differently than we do. We see the outside and the physical. God sees the heart of sacrifice of those who love, obey, and trust Him. I think it is really the sacrificial heart that is the real “soothing aroma.” #biblestr #Bible #Jesus #grownostr
