Used ecash to buy lemonade from kids at a neighborhood lemonade stand They accepted cash, Venmo, Cash app, and Bitcoin. I scanned the Bitcoin QR code with my cashu wallet and paid. Worked really well. Now… I might have had some influence over the inclusion of the Bitcoin payment option, but nevertheless it worked 😄 cc @calle @bob image

It's time for a wake up call with AI. ChatGPT and Grok have published user conversations publicly on the internet. Meta encouraged their users to do so. Sure it was just the ones that used the "Share" button, but does that somehow make it okay? There is a fundamental flaw here. AI companies have access to your data. It is now their data to do what they will, for better or worse. If your business is using AI for important work, be aware that your proprietary info could show up online at any moment without your knowledge. If you're using AI in your personal life, your struggles about relationships or salacious chats with an AI girlfriend could be shared online without your consent. And could be used in a court room. It doesn't have to be this way. This isn't a sacrifice we need to make. We can have access to the best technology while also preserving our privacy. This is why we work on @Maple everyday, to give the world a better option. Every user of ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity, Claude, Meta AI, and Gemini should have at least a free account on @Maple as well. We as a society win by using the products that protect our data. Start adding privacy products to your toolbox right now. You won't regret it. 🤘

Google requiring Bitcoin apps to have a license. China requiring AI apps to have a license. Do you see where this is heading? Learn the tools now instead of later.

People love to say “just wait until you hit X age, your body won’t move the same”. Ignore them. Keep living a healthy life everyday. Good food, good sun, good movement, good sleep.

Imagine if you had built your business process and fine-tuned it to a current ChatGPT model. That model is going away and you could see a material impact to your company. With open-source AI models, once you nail your process, you can stay on that model as long as you want. image

We just sent out our first marketing newsletter for @Maple. When you want to honor privacy of your users, it makes mailing lists tricky. Every service out there unlocks tracking and snooping by default and some don't let you turn it off at all. Here's how we did it: 1. Email addresses remained in the same system as our user registration for Maple, not shared with new providers 2. Links in the newsletter do not contain click tracking. That means you can hover over the link and see the true URL it resolves to 3. No tracking pixel 4. Images in the newsletter load from our trymaple.ai domain 5. Unsubscribe is easy and encouraged. If you don't want these emails, we don't want to send them to you Enjoy the newsletter...or don't! I don't care. image

Wasn’t expecting a shoutout for Austin Flood Cleanup at the end of @npub10uth...xdlq. Thanks @ODELL and @MartyBent. Nostr and Bitcoin users sending freedom money from anywhere in the world to help fellow humankind put their lives back together in an even a small way, it’s amazing. I am clearing my Primal Wallet because you’ve filled it up again 🫡 I tell everyone we help that these were made possible by Nostr and Bitcoin plebs from around the world, most of whom I’ve never met and will never meet. One person wanted your address so she could send you notes. It wasn’t the time to explain cryptographic signing of notes and other stuff 😉 Know that all of your zaps, even the small ones, matter to the me and to the people here. I do hope to meet more of you in person at future meetups and events. 🤙 🤘 #gratitude #grownostr

Austin North Floods Update - Helping Individuals image Dozens of crews continue to search for missing persons amidst miles of debris. They've asked regular civilians to find alternative ways to help, so we're speaking with individual residents to determine their current needs. Many people have had their homes washed away, with some even finding random vehicles in their yards, upside down, and their homes badly damaged, with all their possessions gone. One such resident is Jane (name changed for this post), who has a unique story. She does wildlife animal rehabilitation on her property, caring for kittens, dogs, foxes, armadillos, skunks, raccoons, birds, opossums, owls, and bats. She takes in animals in need, nurses them back to health, and then reintroduces them to the wild. In 2024 alone, she and her partner rehabbed and released over 300 animals. When the sudden flash floods hit in the middle of the night, much of her rehab area and equipment was washed away, along with the chicken coop containing 30 hens, a barn, and 50 established pecan trees. You can read her story in her own words in the attached screenshot. All that is left is incredible devastation of mangled steel and tree remnants. There are weeks of cleanup needed at her location alone, but she emphasized that there's much more to be done first to help those who are missing and whose homes have been destroyed. Nevertheless, we provided her with essential tools to get the cleanup started, as her original tools were washed away with the sheds. These included a chainsaw, machete, crowbar, hand saws, and more. She wants to express her immense gratitude to everyone who sent Bitcoin to help with these tools, and I share her appreciation. Your contributions are being put to use in helping people whose lives have been turned upside down and are still trying to process everything. The process of search, recovery, cleanup, and rebuilding is ongoing. We spent $750 on this trip, with approximately $400 of it going here. The remaining tools will be used at the Big Sandy Bridge location, where crews are still searching for people under debris. Thank you, Nostr friends 💜 #grownostr #wildlife #weather #texasfloods #atx
