In the past two weeks I’ve been rewriting all of the nostr.build code, and I am only maybe 50% done. Not a full rewrite for everything, but at least refactoring and modernization. The lesson here is simple, the more shit you add to your product, the more time you’ll spend maintaining it. Without AI I’d probably already give up and say “fuck it, I am out”, but AI helps me at least not do the boilerplate coding and other garbage tasks. My job now is mainly architecture, design and infrastructure.

Just made the nostr.build media serving frontend automatically fallback to a third party object storage backup, in case the primary one fails. So, in case you wondered, we do store each upload in two places, if we get banned or wiped by mistake, we still have your data safely stored in a separate location. 🫡
