X is really broken. It doesn’t matter if you look at “for you” “following” or even my noderunners select group. Only posts about some things happening in the US are constantly thrown in your face. Can’t wait to be able to set my own algorithm based on what I want to see. It’s very simple: WTF are people building to improve bitcoin.

I have no clue what is going to happen in the self custody landscape in a decade from now. I only believe one thing. When it becomes clear it’s not your keys, not your coins, it’s going to be busy.
Over the past years I’ve worked together with people in the Dutch and Belgian bitcoin communities. We have had discussions about self custody optimizations and compared every bitcoin only device we could get our hands on. We discussed ethics, risk of founders and technical teams, closed source - open source, ease of use and so much more. In the end it’s trade-offs. We’re looking to create uniformity in setups in the long term and many products will be changed to newer and better solutions in the future. Just in case for the above scenario we have a lot of signing devices in stock. As people have heard me say it before: there’s a cost to this endeavor. As being a maximalist you lose not having everything you have in bitcoin. Having bitcoin into bitcoin products you sell makes you lose bitcoin. But in total we win because thousands of people are securing their bitcoin properly because of our proof of work. It’s all about trade-offs. Low time preference FTW.

Wie van de Nederlandse bitcoiners heeft er ooit van bitcoinwiki gehoord? Behoorlijk veel proof of work door @Marnix Schoorel!

Is X dying for real bitcoin content? Our company took off because of X in 2021/2022. So I’m very thankful that the app brought me where I am today. I’m afraid that it’s not going the right direction. We’ve build a lot of cool #bitcoin stuff and all of it is basically archived on X. I’m afraid to lose it all at some point. Is there a way to migrate the content that was once posted on X to Nostr? Willing to pay for it.

It’s 4am. Following thought:
The Netherlands is under full US control. The Chinese did get a good run over the past years. They could import the chip making machines from ASML. Now that the US determines what is being manufactured in the Netherlands for China we most likely end up seeing the next step of “sanctions”. Remember the farmers protests? Farmers were protesting for an upcoming “land grab”. But i see it more as a bailout. The Netherlands exports 80% of its pork to China and is one of the largest producers and certifiers of milk powder after the child formula disaster.
When China stops imports the NL is up for a rude awakening.
The technology of ASML is wanted, the new French CEO wants it to move to France. But the US wants it.
Now what if the Netherlands would push for a war with Russia and a bomb would go off at ASML. EU is unsafe to guard for the technology of the future of mankind. Should we ship ASML to the US? Just like the gold during WW2? We are not prepared for what is about to come. The interesting part is, we will have a “blown up pipeline” kind of situation.

I was intrigued by the stories of Mircea Popescu years ago. This story is a nice read: “You've got to earn your place on it by doing real things that serve other people, without fear or favor.”
