Quiet morning with fog. The plume of water from whales slowly rose into the sky and dissolved into the fog. The beautiful fins thrust up toward the sky as they dove. When the ripples disappear, silence reappears. A beautiful scene of nature. The night was filled with countless small stars that could not be seen under the lights. The constellation that could see clearly in town was buried under these stars. There was also a white sandy beach hidden by rocks. The sea where I paddled was teeming with wildlife. The beauty of the nature that surrounded me knew no bounds. And the cold rain that get everything from my belongings to my heart wet. The wind that blows without regard to forecast or theory, as if it were the god's bullying. Insects cling to me in a depressing way. The presence of wolves and bears that keep me awake. And speaking of sleep-disrupting, I need to tell the night march of the rats. These events are also part of nature. On a kayaking trip, we can't just cut out the good parts of nature. We travel on our own responsibility and judgment. We should be happy that we know how to play in nature in a modern society that is becoming more and more convenient, and that tries to cut out only the good parts of things. It may be lonely, inconvenient, and uncomfortable sometimes, but nature is more beautiful because we earn it by ourselves, and its harshness sinks into our hearts at time. I have learned to appreciate the sun because of the rain, learned to appreciate the beauty of the beach because of the spicy sea states, and learned to appreciate the light of day because of the wolves surrounded me at night. The goal of reaching Port Hardy faded away during the trip, and when I noticed it, I finished up paddling from Rupert to Hardy while truly enjoying nature and kayaking. Such is the trip. My kayaking trip, which lasted a little over two months including the trip to Haida, was truly fulfilling. And I will continue to paddle. My journey has only just begun."
