We went to Monteverde and was checking out some places to stay. We found this place on Expedia and decided to look at it before booking. The owner happened to be there and bc it was a last minute booking , he offered 100$ a night in cash rather than the usual 150$ through Expedia. I told him we didn’t have cash but could pay him using SINPE. He was very surprised and asked twice “ you can pay in SINPE??” So I showed him and also offered to send him info on ₿ which he says he will definitely look into. Dropping more sats at Potz in Ojochal 😝 in @npub14f26...v7lu I’ve noticed that every place that we pay in ₿ , the employee seems very comfortable accepting ₿. In El Salvador , often the employee claims the “system is down” or “ the person who accepts ₿ is not here rn” etc This has not been the case so far in CR.

Another great day in the @npub14f26...v7lu Went to a farmers market in Dominical and met a wonderful lady named Gabi who sells all natural health products. Bought some cacao beans from her for sats of course. I was blown away by her story about how she discovered ₿ 10 years ago! She said she drew up a hand made sign that said “ accept bitcoin” but never received one payment in sats at the venue she was at at the time. I was also equally blown away when she told us she taught her very first @My First Bitcoin class at the @npub14f26...v7lu office 2 days ago ! Imagine that ! a local Costa Rican who discovered ₿ 10 years ago but couldn’t accumulate any ₿ until now and ends up teaching ₿ to local Costa Ricans !! And she explained that she wanted to do this even though she wasn’t getting paid because she wanted to help locals AND bc it helps her learn more about ₿ ! 🤯 Needless to say , we gave her a free OPI orange pill to display at her booth! We need more Gabi’s 👏 We also met a very interesting bitcoinner for coffee using the @Club Orange! It’s amazing how there’s an instant connection that bitcoinners have. Spent hours chatting about life and traded some war stories. Ended up going for lunch and the farmers market together 🇨🇷🇸🇻
