Wife ▫️Mother ▫️ Homeschool Teacher ▫️Making traditional values trendy again ✨
I spent 2 hours on Sunday prepping veggies for meals this week. It's always worth it. Tonight's dinner was as easy as dumping onto a pan and turning the oven on. image
Anyone taking bets on Musk paying Tucker Carlson to bring his show to Twitter? I just think it's odd to box yourself in to a platform that censors it's users when you're promoting freedom of speech... Branch out to multiple platforms at least.
Although I advocate for women becoming homemakers and mothers, Gloria Alvarez is a triple threat for Guatemala: intelligent, pretty, and running for president.
True story: An AP Government teacher told her students that if they earned a certain score on their AP exam, that she would get a tattoo. Well they reached their goal and she now has a tattoo on her ankle that says "AP GOV." Take away: We could discuss tattoos and how they are permanent and our opinions on those (I won't - I have about 7 tattoos). Instead I will just note that a teacher felt the need to encourage her students with a TATTOO to make a certain score on a standardized test for the sake of government data. I hope those students have some critical thinking skills...
Baby #2 has been earthside for 5 days. Two thoughts come to mind - 1. I feel so empowered with the biological ability to create life. The act of birthing my son made me feel so powerful. Womanhood is amazing. 2. Raising children has strengthened my marriage. Working as a team to meet their needs and each other's is truly a work of compassion. It's also so very attractive to see your husband be a good father. Take note ladies.
That moment when the cashier at CVS asks "When are you due?" Me: "Do you really want to know the answer?' She asks, "Is it twins?" I reply, "No, I was due yesterday." 🫠 I'm feeling like a superhero overbaking both of my children. 😆
Women breastfeed. Chest feeding is not a thing. It's offensive to attribute my natural female abilities to anyone with a chest.
Y'all remember when Arthur Miller wrote "The Crucible" as an allegory for McCarthyism? There's a modern Witch Hunt among us: cancel culture. I've been a Harry Potter fan for about 18 years. I recall years ago (2007) when JK Rowling claimed that Dumbledore was gay. This information didn't dissuade my enjoyment of the franchise. Now Rowling is under fire for claiming that sex exists and women are women. This leaves me wondering who's side is she on? Is she a supporter of the LGBTQ etc. movement? Or is she opening her eyes and seeing that the left has gone too far? Folks, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm listening to this podcast with the hopes that I can hear her perspective first hand. Regardless of her stance, I won't be cancelling one of my favorite authors. I'm just trying to understand.
In case you're misinformed - Public school teachers work ~180 days and only get paid for those days. We do not get paid for summer or holidays. Our 180 day paycheck is divided across 12 months. There are benefits to this work schedule for sure, but oftentimes the downsides weigh heavier. I can surely criticize the public school system, but I will always defend the educators that are doing good things. An argument I saw today was "just quit. complaining won't change anything." I am quitting. I am quitting my dream job. The career I've wanted since kindergarten. The career I took out student loans for and sacrificed time with family and friends for. That person online was right, we should quit and dismantle public education. The system can't continue if there aren't any cogs left on the gear. In the near future I'll be transitioning to homemaking and homeschooling full time. My family deserves their mother and wife available the cater to their needs and nurture them. The state shouldn't be raising my children. Consider breaking a few more cogs off the wheel.
Just homemaker things. ✨ My first attempt at homemade biscuits. We'll see how they turn out this evening. image
I don't care how pregnant or how much pain I'm in, I will always do these 2 things - 1. Return my grocery cart 2. Park in appropriate parking spaces Every single day I see parents park in obscure places (such as the sidewalk or handicap accessible spot) at daycare. This is lazy and dangerous. Do better.
Due date week! ✨ Send #[0] and I positive vibes while we *impatiently* await our baby boy's arrival. Hoping mother nature will do her thing and no medical inductions will be necessary!
How can you be pro-choice, advocate for gender affirming medical care for children, and refuse to provide protection in our schools? You cannot say you are looking out for the best interest of children. Make it make sense.
How to lose credibility at a protest for gun laws: ▫️refer to "AR" as an "assault rifle" ▫️dress in costume ▫️state that schools need more security, but doesn't offer any solutions ▫️claim to want gun control, but cannot state what laws/guns should be legislated ▫️pose that the mentally ill should not have access to guns, but embrace our mentally ill culture
