I keep seeing news articles about this. It's all about saving face instead of reworking the budget to serve the students. They don't need a 10 year commitment to a textbook company or a new initiative with a paid speaker, classrooms need supplies for student success. Credit: I was a public school teacher for 7 years. I've seen my own district forbid sharing classroom wishlists, commit to major textbook companies, & pay many educational specialists to rebrand the wheel. Additionally, I've been told we weren't pulling our weight to earn our salary and need to take on additional certifications & accolades to receive government funding to cover the unwavering salary scale.
