A slightly breakthrough moment with the wife. She's not against it, she just trusts me on finances and big picture stuff...and given my obsession, she has no pallet for the topic. I explained to her how two years ago, a very short time ago, we could have bought my house for 8 or 9 Bitcoin. Today we could buy my house for ~2.5 Bitcoin. Her: "wow that is crazy" Me: now you know why I don't wanna buy a new house anytime soon. The prices keep dropping.

Don't ever get lasik. I know a guy, 40ish, got it done. He says he can see fine, but it's different. He gets headaches sometimes, and he suspects it's from the LASIK. He says it's hard to describe, but he sees differently than before. Mind you, his surgery was successful. But he told me he wouldn't do it again. As he said, takes 5 seconds every morning to put in contacts. Or just wear glasses. He told me he's talked to quite a few ppl with similar issues. Also my wife's ex bf got it and he's going was blind from it. Don't get lasik.

@preston and @Matthew Mezinskis , I stopped listening mid way thru this one and went to my computer to see the charts. I slowed down the video to 0.75x for this chart, and it blew me away. For every 12.7% increase in days in the life of Bitcoin, the adoption doubles and the price doubles. Zapping you both. Great podcast to really slow down, listen to, and watch

Winter doldrums with the pregnant wife. Bitcoin has made me even more frugal than I used to be. Looking at a quick long-weekend to Florida, and I'm like...dang, $2k. It's not like I don't have it. I'm just tryna stack sats right now...and save for baby. Sheesh. I thought I was cheap before.

I wish Jonathan Bier were on here so I could zap him some sats. After owning *some* Bitcoin for years, I read his book. and my first Bitcoin book, The Blocksize War. It's an amazing book. Nostr users may not think this, but the average person wouldn't believe a book about the war between big block bitcoiners and small blockers could possibly be a page-turner with great story lines. But it is a fast fun read, and it ultimately orange pilled me.

LED headlights need to be outlawed. they're blinding when behind you. I bend forward. I bend sideways. they're blinding. Now big trucks have them. 200yds behind me blind me. it's raining, andI have to hold my hand up to block side mirrors from blinding me. Currently single sig air gapped. Currently nervous about single sig failure via theft or loss. But nervous about multi sig. Nervous about using unchained as multisig, in that I don't like them having my xpub. Want to do self multisig via Sparrow, but nervous about keeping my own xpub (all corresponding multisig wallet configuration info) and losing it, even if I store the file with each of the private keys. how do you spend your BTC? I mean, luckily at this point I haven't had to. but if I did, seems like annoying tax consequences I'd have to deal with. obv I will deal w taxes if necessary, but it makes me slightly apprehensive when buying btc

I tried to runs Bitcoin node. I suppose the failure was purchasing a HDD instead of an SSD. it was so slow downloading. then somehow I bricked the drive. idk I gave up. should I go drop $150 and get that SSD and get back on the horse? I should say, I've installed Ubuntu Linux on old computers, flashed custom roms back in the day to android phones, so I'm not a complete tech noob.

Unfortunately, the Fountain app is simply not as good as Podcast Addict. I've used Addict for many years, it's great. I switched to Fountain around 8 months ago. I added sats from my stash. I have been tipping and zapping for good shows. But the Fountain app would occasionally delete an episode, or no longer let me listen to a show, or some other strange things that inhibited my podcast enjoyment. Two weeks ago I switched back to Addict, and it's just so smooth. But now at least I have Nostr so I can zap podcasters on here for good shows.
