Today, I bring a small homage to Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. Brahms' Ballade Op. 10 No. 4 in B major, through Michelangeli's hands, works like Xanax.

This morning, I will deviate for a moment from my usual posts with a short video from Keith Jarrett's improvisation for the Norwegian Molde Jazz Festival in 1972. The entire 46-minute-long performance is called "Molde-72".

I will end the day with Josef Hofmann playing Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Sharp minor, Op. 3 No. 2. (1945) Did you know that Rachmaninov, after finishing his 3rd Concerto, asked Hofmann to play it at its premiere in 1909? While Hofmann refused, and Rachmaninoff was the one to play it, now we witness the original intention, so to speak, because the 3rd Concerto was dedicated to Hofmann.
