Always a good choice to start the day, the equivalent of an extra coffee, Vittorio Monti's Czardas. Clara Cernat, violin, and Thierry Huillet, piano. Have an excellent day!

Today I say goodbye with a magnificent Gil Shaham performance of Pablo de Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy together with the Berlin Philharmonic and Claudio Abbado. Beyond impressive. 👏👏👏 Have a fine evening!

Come on, let's have some fun with Mahavishnu Orchestra, performing live at BBC "You Know, You Know". (1972, I think)

A very late start today with Samson François improvising before playing Rachmaninoff’s arrangement of Liebesleid. The footage is believed to be from a 1968 cruise, this being the only known instance of him playing Rachmaninoff.

Have a quick noon espresso with an 18-year-old Krystian Zimerman playing Chopin's Mazurka at the 1975 Chopin Piano Competition. He also won the competition, thus becoming the youngest winner of the first prize. ☕

When the first Three Tenors concert took place, on July 7, 1990, in Rome's Terme di Caracalla, Luciano Pavarotti delivered a cry for lost love with Vincenzo de Crescenzo's "Rondine al nido". This is also a tourist suggestion for those of you who'll visit Rome. I wish you all a great day!

For lunch break, between an espresso and a cigarette, I propose Rossini's "The Barber of Seville", Act I Finale, with Joyce DiDonato as Rosina and Juan Diego Flórez as Count Almaviva. Did you know that the premiere (February 20, 1816, in Rome) was a complete bust? Only after that did it start to gain traction and become the success we all know it to be.

For your morning coffee, a short moment with Bobby McFerrin and Yo-Yo Ma playing Rimsky-Korsakov’s "Flight of the Bumblebee". If you want to take a deeper dive into this, their collaboration began with their 1992 album "Hush" (more than two years at the top of the Billboard Classical).

A few pictures from Juan-Les-Pins, where every year there's "Jazz à Juan", a famous festival that dates back to 1960. This year, it takes place from July 9 to July 19. If you have kids and don't want to pay the tickets, the venue is right at the park and you can listen to the music for free, with a bottle of wine, while the little ones are having a good time too.
