I don't know how popular Takuya Nakamura is, so I take a small detour to introduce him to you. He blends trumpet with jazz, as well as drum & bass and techno.
I uploaded a short "presentation" video and added the YouTube link for the whole performance. Have an excellent day!
I want to catch your attention with an old trailer from 2010 for Verdi's Aida, taking place at Arena di Verona and directed by Franco Zeffirelli. Starting July 30, it's back with 7 events. I attached the link for tickets too.

Have you ever wondered how "Bohemian Rhapsody" would sound if Liszt wrote it? If yes, Peter Bence has the answer. Have fun!
For today's lunch break, I propose Midori Goto playing Pablo de Sarasate's Zapateado, Op. 23 No. 2, Spanish Dance No. 6, together with Robert McDonald. ☕
I wish you all a great week with Evgeny Kissin playing Bach/Kempff's Siciliano like no other.
A classical guitar moment for the noon coffee with Ana Vidović playing Scarlatti's Sonata in E major, K 380.
Have a fine Sunday!
From the Metropolitan Opera, a clip from the final dress rehearsal with Michael Spyres and Lise Davidsen in Wagner’s "Tristan and Isolde".
Always a good choice to start the day, the equivalent of an extra coffee, Vittorio Monti's Czardas. Clara Cernat, violin, and Thierry Huillet, piano.
Have an excellent day!
Today I say goodbye with a magnificent Gil Shaham performance of Pablo de Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy together with the Berlin Philharmonic and Claudio Abbado. Beyond impressive. 👏👏👏
Have a fine evening!
A video from a week ago with Martha Argerich rehearsing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in Lugano, Switzerland.
For today's coffee and cigarette break, a bit of melancholy with Pinchas Zukerman playing Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, II. Adagio, together with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Zubin Mehta.
Have a wonderful day! ☕
Come on, let's have some fun with Mahavishnu Orchestra, performing live at BBC "You Know, You Know". (1972, I think)
A very late start today with Samson François improvising before playing Rachmaninoff’s arrangement of Liebesleid.
The footage is believed to be from a 1968 cruise, this being the only known instance of him playing Rachmaninoff.
Have a quick noon espresso with an 18-year-old Krystian Zimerman playing Chopin's Mazurka at the 1975 Chopin Piano Competition. He also won the competition, thus becoming the youngest winner of the first prize. ☕
I kick the day off with a more dramatic start, with Anna Lapwood playing the final movement of Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony No. 3 Finale on the Royal Albert Hall's grand organ.
Have a great day!
Initially, I wanted to post "Hush Little Baby", so here it is. So nice to rediscover this Yo-Yo Ma & Bobby McFerrin collaboration!
👏👏👏

When the first Three Tenors concert took place, on July 7, 1990, in Rome's Terme di Caracalla, Luciano Pavarotti delivered a cry for lost love with Vincenzo de Crescenzo's "Rondine al nido". This is also a tourist suggestion for those of you who'll visit Rome. I wish you all a great day!
For lunch break, between an espresso and a cigarette, I propose Rossini's "The Barber of Seville", Act I Finale, with Joyce DiDonato as Rosina and Juan Diego Flórez as Count Almaviva.
Did you know that the premiere (February 20, 1816, in Rome) was a complete bust? Only after that did it start to gain traction and become the success we all know it to be.
