Technically, it's Clint Mansell's "Lux Aeterna". For me, it's "Requiem for a Dream". Have a great day!
Another jazz remembrance for today is that exactly 100 years ago Miles Davis was born to make us happy. 🥂
I just found out that yesterday we lost Sonny Rollins. RIP, maestro, we can just hope to reach 95! Let's remember him with "Biji", at the 50th Monterey Jazz Festival, in 2007.
Many people recognise Einaudi's "Experience," but not many know what they're listening to. Teatro del Verme, Milano, 2023
I know almost nothing about Relm. She's a Bosnian artist who lives in Canada and that's it. But "Cards & Espresso Martinis" made me laugh, mostly because initially I had no idea what I was looking at. 😂 image
I compiled a list of six jazz festivals for this summer, "just in case". Just double-check because I'm old, but the dates should be mostly accurate. 1. Jazz à Vienne, France, 25 June - 11 July 2. Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Denmark, 3 - 12 July 3. Umbria Jazz Festival, Perugia, Italy, 3 - 12 July 4. Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland, 3 - 18 July 5. Jazz à Juan, Juan-Les-Pins, France, 9 - 19 July 6. North Sea Jazz Festival, Rotterdam, Nederland 10 - 12 July
I was in the mood for trumpet, so here's Jessica Pina with her JP Funk Trio playing Roy Hargrove's "Strasbourg / St. Denis". Have a great day!

I'm sure that everyone knows about this but me. 😂 Keith Jarrett playing "Over the Rainbow", Tokyo, 1984. What a nice surprise!
Today I present to you one of my favourite pages of music history. Montserrat Caballé and Marilyn Horne singing the duet "Belle Nuit", also known as Barcarolle, from Offenbach's "Les Contes d'Hoffmann". Munich, 1990 👏👏👏
If you enjoy a cognac next to your coffee, here's Lee Morgan "chatting" with Oscar Peterson. Moanin', 1961.
One contemporary classical music composer whom I wholeheartedly recommend is Anna Thorvaldsdottir. Of course, being Icelandic, she has a name that is not supported by standard keyboards, and the same holds for some of her song titles. However, you can copy/paste this name if you want to search for more information. I also have some upload issues today so here's the YouTube link for what I initially wanted to upload.
Tonight, I present to you two kings. Camarón de la Isla and Paco de Lucía "showing off" with Bulerías. 👏👏👏
My only post for today, Jimmy Smith playing “Walk on the Wild Side” live on Jazz Scene USA, 1962. For those passionate, this is the Hammond B-3 in the hands of Jimmy Smith, the man who changed it forever.
Okay, this one isn't about classical music, but in 50 years, who knows? I know I'm old, so I quite enjoyed Jorn van Deynhoven's remix of Tiësto's "Lethal Industry". I felt young again for a few minutes. 😂 (Transmission Prague, 2021)
I'm still on the fence with Joe Hisaishi's “Merry-Go-Round of Life”, tho I've been told that it's pretty popular these days. It was recorded in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and newly arranged by Hisaishi for symphony orchestra.
One of my favourite "Duo des fleurs" (Flowers duet - from Léo Delibes's "Lakmé"). Soprano Sabine Devieilhe, as Lakmé, and mezzo-soprano Ambroisine Bré, as Mallika.
For today, a 1965 history page with Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods), Siegfried's funeral march, performed by the Vienna Philharmonic under the direction of Sir Georg Solti. 👏👏👏
If you were looking for a reason to visit Vienna, the yearly Summer Night Concert can be a good "excuse". On June 19, in the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace, the Vienna Philharmonic will set the atmosphere under Lorenzo Viotti's baton.
If you enjoy 80s music & aesthetics, here's a SANYO advertisement from 1989. I added the song too, Jean Michel Jarre's "Rendez-vous 2".
