How to choose the best Lightning integration for your app ⚡️
The Breez SDK offers developers one of two implementations for adding Lightning payments: Greenlight (native) or Liquid (nodeless).
Here’s a quick breakdown of the differences 🧵👇
→ Greenlight is a pure Lightning implementation, while the trust profile with the Liquid implementation lies with the
@`Liquid Network ` sidechain.
→ The Liquid implementation doesn’t require an LSP or channel management, whereas Greenlight does require an LSP.
→ There are no setup fees for end-users with the Liquid implementation, but there are fees for opening and closing channels with Greenlight.
→ There's a minimum transaction size of 1,000 sats for the Liquid implementation, but no minimum for Greenlight (on existing channels).
→ The setup costs for Greenlight are tied to Bitcoin mining fees, while the Liquid implementation has static @`Liquid Network ` on-chain fees.
