What did Jesus mean when he said to love your neighbor? This reading, The Parable of the Good Samaritan, illustrates what he had in mind. I invite you to spend a few minutes with me today in the Gospel of Luke to reflect on generosity in your own life. Today's daily Bible reading for Monday, October 6th. #jesus #christ #bible #biblestr #gospel

Happy Friday, Nostr. Today's daily Bible readings for October 3, 2025. The theme of these readings is all about repentance--admitting to yourself and to God that you've fallen short, and asking for help in turning things around. If you're following along, let me know if you prefer having the verses visible on the screen like I've done here, or whether you prefer the nicer-looking format of previous recordings. #bible #biblestr #christ #jesus

Stop waiting for “the city” to come fix your neighborhood. You are the city.

GM, Nostr. It's Tuesday, September 30th, and these are your daily #Bible readings. Today we're looking at Zechariah, Psalm, Matthew, and Luke. My favorite moment in these readings is when the disciples of #Jesus are pissed off to the point of wanting to annihilate an entire city. Jesus scolds them. He's not there to destroy lives, but to save them. #Biblestr

Today's gospel reading is a must-listen. It tells the story of a poor beggar named Lazarus and the rich man who ignored him. It calls us to be more generous and follow Christ's teaching to give to the poor. If you listen to only one reading today, be sure to listen to this parable starting at 3:39 in this clip. I'm continuing to post Daily #Bible readings, and following along with the #Catholic liturgical calendar. I invite you to join me in listening.

TGIF. Hope you're having a great Friday. Here are today's #Bible readings for Friday, September 26th. I'm reading along with the Catholic liturgical calendar. Pronouncing the names in this reading from Haggai was no easy feat. "The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised."

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Today's daily #Bible readings for Wednesday, September 24th. As always, I'm reading along with the #Catholic liturgical calendar, which means that Catholics around the world will be reading these same passages today. Today's readings deal with themes of sin, repentance, and forgiveness. I invite you to spend 3 minutes listening to the Bible with me today.
