one thing that I've run into when learning about finance that is annoying - all the finance books i've read assume you want to save for retirement, when you're old. Who the f--- wants to get old? I just want to be rich so I can do whatever I want Isn't that what most people want?

It's funny that most people look at their paycheck and how big it is to see how well they are doing financially. A much better way is to look over your net worth increase weekly If you were getting paid half as much at a different job, but you were saving/increasing sweat equity/etc by $500 per week compared to $250 per week, the less pay job would be better financially. A good example of this is someone who starts a successful business but only pays themselves a low salary. Their net worth is increasing rapidly if it becomes a successful business although their paycheck is low

Random question: when immigrating to the US, apparently it is required you get some shots (hepa b, tdap, MMR and flu shot) From what I've learned, some of these are not totally safe Does anyone know of a way to avoid these shots? Like a doctors note, religious exemption, etc
