A friendly reminder that summer is almost here, and that you need an R129 SL to waft around the Med in comfort, just like Princess Diana.

De Tomaso Pantera! Produced from 1971 to 1992, the Pantera was designed by American engineer Tom Tjaarda at Carrozzeria Ghia, marking a pivotal collaboration between De Tomaso and Ford. Initially powered by a Ford 351 Cleveland V8, it produced around 330 horsepower, mated to a 5-speed ZF transaxle. The Pantera also featured a steel monocoque chassis and independent suspension. Today, it’s celebrated as a true classic, known for its unique fusion of Italian design and American muscle. image image

The Maserati MC12 Corsa, introduced in 2006, is a track-only hypercar derived from the MC12 GT1 race car, designed exclusively for private track use and not street legal. It features a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine producing around 755 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed sequential manual gearbox. The car’s carbon fiber chassis and body ensure lightweight rigidity and optimal weight distribution, while aerodynamic elements like a large rear wing and front splitter generate significant downforce for high-speed stability. The MC12 Corsa boasts advanced Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and adjustable suspension for precise handling. Only 12 units were made, each costing about $1 million, and Maserati manages their maintenance and track use. This hypercar delivers a pure, exhilarating track experience with a top speed exceeding 200 mph and a power-to-weight ratio of approximately 630 bhp per tonne, making it a rare and highly exclusive machine for enthusiasts.

The 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV, locked away for decades in a bricked-up room within a crumbling Palazzo in northern Italy, is a discovery that surpasses typical barn finds. The late owner bought the car in 1975 for 7,500,000 Lire (around $11,000) and spent 40 years fending off persistent buyers while keeping the car securely hidden. This Miura, one of only two built in ‘Bruno Metallizzato’ with a ‘Pelle Avana’ interior, is the seventh-to-last car made and remains cosmetically unrestored. After a long pursuit, the car was finally uncovered and will not be restored but carefully preserved in its original state and remain in Italy.
