I'm reading that the one big beautiful bill passed by the senate today includes the following language: "Gains from any digital asset disposition where the total value does not exceed $600 are excluded — unless exchanged for cash, cash equivalents, business property, or income‑producing assets" I hope it's true and I hope it ends up in the final version passed by both houses.

Senator Cynthia Lummis has proposed an amendment to the senate version of the One Big Beautiful Bill -- which may be coming up for a vote as soon as this afternoon -- that allows a de minimus tax exemption for bitcoin transactions under $600. Despite how you feel about the bill in general, since it's highly likely it's gonna become law, might as well call your senators and tell 'em you support @npub15xqg...9rv7 's amendment.
