I really liked this movie, but there were still two things that left me a little disappointed. One was the way Helen of Troy / Queen of Sparta was portrayed, and the other was the six serpents from the legend. In the original story, it was actually a Kraken, not serpents Also, the gods in the original story had all these incredible powers and magic, but the movie barely showed that side of them. Zendaya’s Athena felt more like a symbol of hope, almost like a mental projection or something Odysseus created in his own mind during his darkest moments, rather than an actual goddess who appeared and guided him Basically, he transformed a mythological story into an epic psychological thriller about survival, one person’s struggle against impossible odds, and his fight against fate lol
