Whitewind: a blog platform built on top of `atproto`. Presumably, all the data is part of the `atproto` data feeds, including posts and images. Someone could even write an interface of their own.
So yeah. If you're on Bluesky, and want easy and free blogging, check it out.

This is your reminder that AI loves em dashes. That’s a hyphen (`-`) the width of a letter “m”.
It isn’t always an appropriate factor - sometimes people use them, sometimes autocorrect uses them. But it is a sign you should start looking harder at whether you’re dealing with a bot.
Mise config for projects: Node LTS
Mise config for everything else: BLEEDING LATEST BABY
Because it’s not fun unless it randomly explodes in your face from time to time.
Me: I am in such intense pain that I can barely make it to the loo. You are MS specialists, can we try something like gabapentin for neurological pain even as a diagnostic tool?
Specialist: No. Here’s a video about how pain is an animal.
That is literally how it went.
Do you have to pull all your git repositories at once a lot? Behold: `yank`.
Python. Uses `rich` for pretty output. Will invoke `pip` if it doesn't find it.
Defaults to 8 parallel threads. Specify with `yank NUM_THREADS` or `yank unlimited` if you're a maniac.

People seem to think the UK has less transphobia. That’s actually an endorsement of how MUCH transphobia there is here.
In the US, transphobes are thick. They don’t couch their transphobia. That’s terrible, but it means you can fight it.
Here, they’re smart. They hide behind the general feeling that things in the UK can’t possibly be that bad for a marginalised group. They are in bed with all levels of Government. They operate deniably. And they’re very, very good at it.
Until recently, I would say the UK is more transphobic than the US. Now, it’s harder. Maybe it’s just different. But it’s definitely just as bad.
You’d think we’d learn from Section 28 that legislation can be carefully crafted to be deniable, and ruin and end lives because of the effect on the zeitgeist.
We’ve had just long enough that people have forgotten, and don’t resist the anti-trans rhetoric which uses the SAME bullshit arguments.
Talked about VAERS a few times lately. It’s the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.
Anyone can report anything to VAERS. That’s good. It means patterns can be detected in things not immediately apparent.
But anyone can report anything to VAERS; reading something in VAERS is meaningless.
This is fantastic news. Of course, spacemen worldwide will claim it makes your spleen implode because they read it on VAERS once.

Hooboy.
I asked GPT-4o for project name ideas, and some domains for them, and if it could also check domain availability.
It backgrounded the task, but okay, I've got stuff to do.
A couple of hours later, I ask it for an update.
Don't worry. It's still going. There are simply **40,000** domains.
Initial thoughts about tools to do the initial busywork of a project, to do the fun stuff faster -
Lovable.dev : terrible. Avoid.
v0.dev : not bad if you want Next.js - terrible otherwise
Replit : pretty great if you stop it making architectural decisions which would lock you into their hosting
Looking for an AI project idea? Have this one.
Notion Mail lets you filter, categorise, and sort email using natural language. Build something that uses a locally hosted model.
Bonus points if it runs on a CPU. This is barely more involved than Bayesian inference, we don’t need an advanced model.
What BLAKE’S 7 taught me: no, good doesn’t always win, and yes, you should fight anyway.
My post about BLAKE'S 7 has resulted in a whole conversation on Threads, of crusty old sci-fi nerds.
Myself, naturally, included.
That'll improve a day :)
The Superhuman AI filtering is weak. Decent mobile client until Notion Mail releases for iOS, but I’m pretty sure it’s fake AI, just using keywords -`not x` includes `x`.
Easy fix: do it with Notion Mail instead which is proper AI. Then set up Superhuman to use the Notion labels for split inbox.
Got an Indian kid on Threads trying to tell me that the Wordpress scan is still legit despite it being a static site, and that being a static site doesn’t mean I don’t have to keep Wordpress up to date.
Did I mention that he’s looking for an infosec gig?
I despair.
