Once we have LLMs running locally on our devices, the whole moderation/censorship wars go away, right? It seems likely that in the next year or two, we could have a pluggable system where I can tell my LLM “show me all content from those I follow but summarize replies from others in a concise manner that rephrases any inflammatory language or images” Thereby defanging trolls in one fell swoop, and removing the need that some have to blame centralized platforms for all their problems. And a significant chunk of the culture wars go away also. Once this happens, only authoritarian governments will still pursue censorship.

Or when Uber’s iOS app created a geofence around Apple’s headquarters to hide some features from their employees? Big companies really lose their moral compass sometimes.
