I have strong convictions that are loosely held about money, Artificial Intelligence, human potential and personal development.
Beach walk done. Picked up some more glass as well. Seems like there is no end to it. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Yard work done, time for a beach walk!
Gm! Another opportunity to share time and space with the ones I love. So grateful ๐
Yeah, new level unlocked!
Made a makeshift wood fired oven. We are going to try baking a focaccia ๐

Shortest day of the year and the blueberry bushes are budding. Seems really early ๐ง

The sunrise as I saw it this morning.

Gm ๐คช Another opportunity to make the most of it! Have a good one ๐
Gm. Keep up the good work folks! ๐
The oranges are ready to eat ๐ Windfall citrus ๐

Gm๐ A public holiday today so a slow start. Basic direction for the day is that I am going to make a tiramisu and then drive 1.5 hours with my bestie to an olive grove and spend the afternoon/evening around a fire, eating good food and chatting with nice people ๐
Gm! Another day in the simulation ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Listening to Rizwan Virk talk about the simulation hypothesis while getting ready to make some corn fritters as a trial before I have to make them later for dinner. Must. Not. Get. Distracted. And. Go. Down. A. Rabbit. Hole ๐ณ๐ฌ

I hear quite a bit of chatter around human meaning and purpose being challenged in the upcoming AI and robotics explosion. The idea is that it will quickly dawn on large swaths of populations that their โnewโ reality is somehow meaningless and without purpose because humans will be needed less than ever to keep societal structures running.
The idea that, for instance, most nurses will suddenly find their lives meaningless and without purpose suggests that most nurses had nursing as their sole ambition is life, the only thing that they ever wanted to do. Reality is that nursing was a way to contribute to a bigger idea based around family or travel or job security. I am not saying that some nurses donโt see their chosen profession as a calling, what I am saying is that most people do what they do for a reason that is bigger than their profession.
This implies meaning and purpose is bubbling away at a base layer level. This is where IMO a Universal Basic Income comes in as a way to ease the stress of the upcoming AI transition. I currently contend that a UBI will help people continue to feed the systems that are necessary to support their sense of meaning and purpose, things like caring for their elderly or infant dependents, keeping roofs over their heads and food on the table. Meaning and purpose for populations are indirectly tied to economics. That is why I donโt trust anyone (at this stage) who says that a UBI is not a good strategy for the majority moving forward.
A great day outside in the garden. Most of the time was spent pruning ponga fronds and blueberry bushes. I listened to interviews with Joe Carlasare, Jack Mallers, Daniel Priestley and Alex Wang. A bit of Macro economics, some Bitcoin and of course AI. Nothing really new to challenge my current positions but good nonetheless. Weather is looking great for tomorrow so will plan for another day outside with fresh air and foliage! ๐
Itโs a yard work day ๐ด๐ฑ๐ชด๐๐ชป๐บ๐
Almost! This orchid is going to be something else! Also, never seen a pod like this on an orchid before ๐ณ

Gm. I slept in by 2.5 hours ๐ฎ I woke up having a dream where I watched an old man back his Morris 1000 panel van into an early model mini. Just a small fender bump. Anyway, the sun is shining and I am about to have my first coffee for the day. First things first eh!
