It's painful how much Parker Lewis misses the simple beauty of nostr. He claims you can't practically sensor a Bitcoin transaction. If you look at the extreme case that makes censoring a Bitcoin transaction possible it closely resembles how a note on nostr is stored and forwarded. Imagine there are only 2 Bitcoin full nodes that are also miners. If I don't have a full node and I want to broadcast a transaction, one of those nodes has to accept my transaction broadcast. In this case you are relying on those two full nodes to not ban your transactions. If you want to not rely on those nodes, you must bring your own third full node onto the network, and accept your own transaction broadcast and mine it into a future block. In the nostr case, imagine there are only 2 relays. If you want to broadcast a note, you have to trust those two relays to not block your npub. If they block your npub you must bring online your own relay to ensure your notes are accessible. There are differences because Bitcoin is a consensus network and nostr is not. If I want to run my own LAN nostr relay at my home or office, I can do that easily. Its not as easy or valuable to run your own Bitcoin network locally. In the extreme cases censoring either one is very similar.

My biggest mistake in life was continually listening to fearful people complain about how difficult a thing would be. I'm going to do my best to not fall into that trap going forward. Evaluate things myself.

In the near future, it will be understood that current water runoff and drainage practices are more ecological damaging than fossil fuels.
