I watched a video where a Zohran voter talked about him as if he offered a vision of hope, in contrast to his own life where he talked about working two jobs and feeling squeezed. And I'm like, this guy is looking for hope. I'm betting many people voted for Zohran because they have a genuine need for hope. Later their hopes in him to make the future better will be crushed, but that doesn't mean their need for hope isn't valid. I wonder if hope is such a strong need that some people, falsely believing we live in a zero sum world, seek a communist world so they can at least become a part of the aristocracy so they can have a form of hope for themselves. The lie that we live in a zero sum world seems like it need to be dislodged. But I wonder if it's deeper than that. I think people need to become one with Jesus, the hope, because ultimately without Jesus there's no lasting hope, since people must know the truth to have true hope, since there's no hope without freedom.

As soon as someone writes, "you should," I'm out. I've I learned that strategic communication and influence comes not from applying external pressure but through vulnerability. It's not healthy for me to tell you what to do, or what you should do. It's healthier to invite you into an adventure, to which you can say yes or no. If you answer yes, then we can have an authentic adventure and partnership. And that's where the real fun begins.
