I've been learning about epistemic diplomacy. I noticed Jonathan Haidt and Steven Pinker were good at it, speaking truth in palatable ways that didn't piss people off, but I didn't think I was capable of using that tool.
Writing on Nostr and speaking more and more frankly has trained me to write without asking permission or explaining myself, which is good. So I basically wrote my latest book in this voice too.
Then I find out, oh, I'm totally capable of using epistemic diplomacy but I didn't want to betray myself or the truth.
Now I'm learning, I can use epistemic diplomacy as a tool, without betraying myself, in a way that is intellectually aggressive, that pits people against reality instead of me, so I'm excited to do this because it means I'm less likely to get attacked. At least, I hope so.
For instance, if I see a meme that flattens reality in a way that's deceiving, instead of saying, "This meme is deceiving," I could say, "What facts needed to be removed for this meme to work?"
Whatever verbal tools I use, I want them to honor and be one with reality, and not against it, while flipping the script when wanted or needed.

How do people receive truth?
It matters.

Whether people buy gold or Bitcoin is IMO a matter of perception.
Sensory types are sensitive to their five senses, and are less comfortable with the abstract and conceptual. Therefore, it could be argued, for these people, reality is what they sense.
While the intuitive and intuitive thinkers, are sensitive to the invisible structures and systems behind what's visible. For them, reality is what is invisible but also indelible.
The former are inclined towards gold, and the latter are inclined towards Bitcoin.
If you hear to sensors talk about how they can't get into Bitcoin because they can't touch it, you'll be hearing evidence that what I'm saying is true.
It's not really stubbornness or a lack of intelligence hindering many from Bitcoin. It's their intrinsic mode of information sensitivity.

Since the leftist South Korean government is trying to murder their former President, I zero percent mind Trump taking them to task over another issue.

I feel sad, in part because I'm realizing that not a small number of people on Nostr, that I would think are in a truth and freedom camp, are merely signaling rather than seeking truth, rather than seeking to understand.
I see name calling, posturing, propaganda, and inflammation rather than community around sophisticated sensitivity to the nature of reality.
It reminds me of when my wife and I attended a Bitcoin meetup in the Phoenix area. Talked to a couple guys after words and found out they didn't even own any Bitcoin. Weird.
There are good people on Nostr, and sensitive and sophisticated people on Nostr, and I'm so glad to join them here since this is a protocol that frees people.
But I feel a bit disillusioned that some of the Nostr crowd isn't interested in exploring reality.
I will need to sort more to find my high quality people.

You can learn to love what you need to accept.
This is called overcoming authority.
