Always use a VPN with Nostr, unless you want everyone to know your location.
The company has never shipped a physical product before, so that’s concerning. I’m not going to preorder anything from them until I see them shipping the product to customers and watch some reviews of the device on YouTube. But it’s certainly an exciting pair of AR glasses. View quoted note →
I want something like this so bad: It’s basically a Vision Pro, but at a MUCH more reasonable cost. Digital displays are the future! Not needing to have one or more physical displays, but instead just having this small AR headset is a big deal for me. I like to be on the move. It’s so compact. I can take it with me anywhere I want. I can’t do that with my big monitor at home…
Good news: The first machine was sold today. However, I am selling them too cheap… I’ll need to raise the price. I’m already making a profit, but my competitors are selling them at double the price compared to me, so I can safely raise the price without scaring customers away. View quoted note →
It's only day one, and I already have one customer in line. The customer will be showing up here at 4pm today. If I can sell the first machine already on day one, that'd be pretty incredible. View quoted note →
There’s nothing wrong with content moderation as long as users are in control of the algorithm. This is how Nostr should be. Users should have the ability to choose exactly which algorithm they want to use within a client and should also be able to completely disable moderation if they wish. #Nostr
I’m starting a sewing machine business 🪡🧵 I’ve ordered two JUKI machines and will most likely receive them on the 17th (which is this Wednesday). Then I’ll put them up for sale online and see how quickly I can sell them. If I can sell both machines within two weeks, then I will be buying three on the next order from the supplier. I see that the Danish suppliers are selling them quite expensive — I can undercut them all. No idea if this business will work, but I’ll try… Maybe I can make it into a nice little business 🤔

I’m certain that at some point in the future, the UX on various Nostr clients will be just as good as on Mastodon. I also think that the UI on every Nostr client is lagging behind Mastodon at this time, but Nostr clients are catching up quickly. Considering Nostr is only a few years old, the progress being made is incredible. View quoted note →
Nostr and Mastodon are pretty cool. I think Mastodon has a nicer UX, but Nostr’s true censorship resistance is a major advantage in my opinion. On Mastodon, the admins can just kick you off the server, and then your user account and all your posts are gone… That cannot happen on Nostr, because you actually own your data here.
I love Nostr, but there is a significant lack of diverse content. The focus is primarily on Bitcoin and discussions about Nostr itself, which becomes tiresome after a while. I’m really hoping Nostr is what the future of social media looks like. Decentralized tech just feels better to me than centralized stuff like X/Twitter.
