I have so many memories of my time in LA over a decade ago. One of them was when I was riding shotgun with my Asian friend and nearly collided with some middle eastern looking lady. She opened her window and with her thick ass accent yelled, “Go back to your country!” We wanted to get mad, but we burst into laughter because of how ridiculous it was. Another time, an Armenian lady pulled the corners of her eyes to look Asian. Oh the hilarity. Careful when you welcome immigrants, give them entitlements, and they’ll think they own the place.

There are car collections and car collections.. And then there’s the Brunei royal family’s car collection. I’d love to see it with my own eyes one day, but even if I could see it, I’m probably not allowed to tell. Apparently, not even some members of the royal family have been allowed to see it.

Old frens

I’m comfortable hanging out with car dudes double my age. They’re mostly the people who can afford to own and maintain the cars I talk about. At breakfast, I asked “So Eugene, tell me about this car..” and then one of them said, “Ooh you’re in trouble now. She’s judging you.” Then everyone just laughs. Good times with septuagenarians.

These beauties are now in their late 60s early 70s years old. Still sexy.

There are people whose lives I’ve observed closely. They’re good people but they have habits and behaviours I can’t stand. They’re the same people I observed 10 or 15 years ago. They’re the same. Stale and stagnant. They repeat the same mistakes. They’re moving, sure, but in the same spot. They’re the ones that say, “same ‘ol, same ‘ol”. They’re the “same shit, different day” people. There are plenty of people you just know you don’t want to be or become.
