It seems @Kruw really likes anonymous payments via CoinJoin. Yes, the payee can't track you back, and there’s no change involved, which is great. Although it’s a bit slower since you have to participate in a CoinJoin, it allows you to make multiple payments in the same transaction. This results in not only more private but also cheaper payments. image

My @Amethyst is completely unusable. Amber started to pop up twice a second for some reason and I unistall it. I had no time for that so, I logged out from @Amethyst and reentered my nsec and it worked. However, every thime I open the app, it starts complaining "Error opening signer app". Any quickfix?

Why is #nostr so much healthier than X? Simple—no virtue signaling in profile notes! 🚫 No Ukraine flags, no globalism flags, no GPG fingerprints. Just pure, authentic and refreshing endogamic nostr notes about how awesome nostr is! This note is a good example of that 🙌💬

Here’s why banning children from working is pure evil: I grew up in a poor neighborhood where many families were even worse off than mine. Sometimes, when I looked for my neighbor friends to go play, they weren’t home because they were working at the supermarket three blocks away, bagging groceries at the cashier line. I joined them a few times because there wasn’t much else to do, but for them, it was something a bit more serious—it was a small but important source of income that they gave to their mothers. It was easy work, and customers appreciated it and tip them for their help. Then, one day, someone decided to prohibit all forms of child labor. A few years later, the streets were full of kids cleaning car windows, others tried playing violin, singing on the sidewalks or simply asking for money, activities that noone find valuable. The sense of pride my friend once had from earning a few pesos by providing a useful service had now been replaced by a naturalized shame of relying on pity from strangers.

My youngest son just bought $100 worth of sats from a random guy using the Telegram lnp2pbot bot, and I only found out because he asked why the bot was failing in delivering his sats. Beyond the fact that at his age I would have been watching He-Man, what surprises me more is that he did it so naturally without fearing about anything and without asking me anything. I have many questions like "If you wanted sats why didn't you ask me? why did you buy from a stranger on internet?", "what do you want stas for?", "how much did you pay in fees?", "how is that your lighting channel had enough capacity?", etc, etc, etc. However, I realized that by making questions I can influence him in ways that I cannot understand/predict. Also, I am sure he doesn't have answers, he seems to be just exploring. Oh, and yes- I made him to install Phoenix months ago to receive a very few sats from me but that was all.

#WasabiWallet backend no longer requires a fully-indexed Bitcoin node. Now, it can operate with a pruned node, lowering the costs for freedom fighters looking to host a Wasabi backend, Wasabi coordinator, or both.

🚨 #WasabiWallet backend servers are currently down. We've run out of funds sooner than anticipated. We're working on fixing the issue ASAP, but it may take some time. Thanks for your patience!

I think Bitcoin adoption in Argentina might slow down under the Milei administration, as there will be less incentive to avoid the Argentinian IRS. The level of financial sophistication that everyday people have had to master is so extreme that it's both mentally and emotionally draining. A more stable economy could make many of these practices unnecessary and Bitcoin is one component of all that.

Somehow 48 minutes ago our release for Windows was replaced. @github doesn't provide any audit log to understand what happened. We have just removed the fake installer but clearly that's not enough. We will continue investigating the issue. Have anyone suffered something similar?
